Hi friends of Take Back the Tap,

Save the dates: Water Awareness Week is February 7th - 11th!

Whether you can attend an event, help us organize, or simply spread the word among your students, friends and/or peers, your involvement is greatly appreciated!

Here's the schedule for the week:

  • TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 8th: Showing of Annie Leonard's The Story of Bottled Water. Come watch the short video, join the discussion, and enjoy light refreshments. 2pm-3pm in SMSU 229. (*this event will take the place of our regular Tuesday meetings)

  • THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 10th: Showing of Tapped, the most recent film on the bottled water industry. The event will begin with an educational discussion led by Food & Water Watch's Julia DeGraw, followed by delicious food and the showing of the film. 4:30pm-6:30pm in room 212G of the Urban Building ("The Cage")

  • Monday through Friday: "Guerilla Tabling" at various refilling stations around campus! Tables will provide information, give out free prizes throughout the day, gather petition signatures and increase visibility for the refill stations. Keep your eyes out for the tables! Interested in tabling? Contact Lisa!

Want to take part in organizing? Come to our meetings on Tuesdays from 2:30-3:30 in Food for Thought
Also, don't forget about Tabling on Tuesdays: If you are interested in hanging out at a table and educating your peers on Take Back the Tap at PSU, join Honore and a couple other volunteers on Tuesdays! They table every Tuesday from 11-1 between Neuberger Hall and Smith Center. You can also join Amanda, who tables for the Sustainability Leadership Center on Wednesdays from 12-2.
And we still need a volunteer to take charge of the Take Back the Tap Facebook Page. Could this be you?
Have any other ideas, comments, or suggestions? Let us know!

You can email Lisa (lisameersman@gmail.com).

Looking forward to seeing you during WATER AWARENESS WEEK,

-Take Back the Tap @ Portland State
